What are the requirements for installing a smart lock?

Nowadays, smart locks have become a part of many households due to their powerful and convenient functions. However, many users often focus only on the appearance and quality of the smart lock, unaware that the installation of the smart lock is equally important. Below, JJR, a smart lock manufacturer, will share some key points to consider when installing a smart lock.

01. When drilling holes on the door frame, be sure to measure the distance from the edge of the door frame to the center of the hole based on the thickness of the door (it must be measured accurately, otherwise the latch will not pop out properly due to incorrect positioning, preventing the door from locking, or causing a large gap between the door frame, resulting in the door swaying slightly back and forth after locking, making the door feel insecure).

02. A smart lock is a product with technological attributes, and the environment in which the lock is used plays an important role in its normal operation. In particular, in environments with high levels of dust or corrosive substances in the air, the normal function of the lock can be greatly affected. Therefore, it is recommended to install the lock after the room has been fully renovated to ensure the lock's proper function and prolong its service life.

03. The installation of a fingerprint lock directly affects the normal use and lifespan of the lock. It is recommended to have experienced personnel perform the installation.

04. The position of the holes on the installation template varies depending on the lock's door-opening mechanism. Therefore, before marking, you must first determine which hole positions on the installation template need to be drilled based on the lock's door-opening method.

05. After the lock installation and debugging are complete, please register an administrator for easier use of the fingerprint lock. We recommend that when registering your fingerprints, you back up a fingerprint or a set of passwords so that you can still open the door in case of unexpected situations like fingerprint wear.

06. Wiring connection: Ensure that the wiring connections are correct, and place the wires properly to prevent them from being damaged or pinched by the vertical and horizontal rods, as this could cause the lock to malfunction.

07. To make opening the door more convenient, before installing the lock, measure the appropriate height for the lock based on the family's door-opening habits.
