Mechanical Structure Principle
1. Overview
Swing gates consist of two primary panels that open and close via a motor or mechanical transmission mechanism.
The motor transmits power to a rotating shaft through a gearbox or similar device. This rotating shaft,
connected to the panels, facilitates their opening and closing.
2. Mechanical Components
- Motor and Transmission: The motor drives the rotating shaft, causing the panels to move.
- Channel Detection Devices: Infrared sensors are installed on both sides of the passage. These sensors
detect pedestrian movement by monitoring infrared beam interruptions.
3. Operational Logic
- When a pedestrian enters the channel, their movement blocks the infrared beams.
- Sensors send signals to the control system to determine the pedestrian's position and movement.
- Based on this data, the system times the opening and closing of the panels accurately.
4. Example: Three-Channel Infrared Sensing
- Step 1: The pedestrian blocks the first infrared beam.
- The system prepares to open the panels.
- Step 2: The pedestrian fully crosses the second infrared beam.
- The system confirms entry and triggers the panels to close.
- Step 3: The third infrared beam is unobstructed.
- The system detects the pedestrian has exited and fully closes the panels.
Control System Principle
1. Controller Functionality
The controller acts as the core of the swing gate's control system. It processes signals from various input
devices, such as:
- Infrared sensors
- Card readers
- Facial recognition devices
2. Signal Processing
- When a pedestrian requests passage (e.g., by swiping a card or scanning a QR code), the respective device sends
a signal to the controller.
- The controller quickly analyzes these signals and determines if access is permitted.
3. Integrated Verification
In systems with multiple verification methods, the controller distinguishes between different types of signals,
such as:
- IC card swipes
- Fingerprint scans
- QR code scans
4. Access Decision and Execution
- The controller checks pre-set rules to verify if the pedestrian is authorized.
- Upon approval, it sends a drive signal to the motor driver circuit to operate the panels.
